Apple Dumpling Gang

"The way we get o live forever is through memories storied in the hearts and souls of those whose live we touch. That's our soul print. It's our comfort, our emotional nourishment at the end of the day and the end of a life. How wonderful that they  are called up at will and savored randomly. It seemed to me we should spend our lives in a conscious state of creating these meaningful moments that live on. Memories matter."
Leeza Gibbons
(now I know some may get upset, but if you read this and know Christ is an ever lasting memory and our lives are Christ like than these memories too are ones she is talking about. When people look at us and remember memories that we have created, are they moemories of Christ?)

As many know the Tanksley's have had a rough few months and have stay very busy trying to make the time apart go by as fast as they humanly can. One of the great things we got to do was spend time with Jane and gary.
They are local farmers and we don't get to see much of them this time of year. But I prayed for a little rain (just enough to keep Gary from the fields for one day but not enough to keep him from working more than then the one day.)
This past weekend did just that it rain just enough in Peru to keep Gary from the field one day. We left Sunday morning early and got to them around lunch time. They took us to this great apple farm and we got to eat at the wonderful restaurant there. The other time I got to go the restaurant was not open so this was a wonderful treat. The food was just wonderful and so warm and cozy were the surroundings.
Psalms 24
"the earth is the Lord's and everything in it... the Lord is strong and mighty... He is the King of glory."
After eating we went up to the barn and there I had the best time. (the kids did too but I got to do something I have always wanted..... pet a baby deer.)
Oh He was just so sweet and loving. The kids loved him too as they got to feed him a bottle which was great fun to watch.

Arianna hold a goat was great to, though Natalie and Mattox were not sure what to think about him. I am not sure who was lighter the goat or Natalie, both "kids" weight about the same.
Mattox loved trying to get "Big John" a very kind but load goose to talk to him. He has been raised since birth and handled a lot so he was not afraid of the kids. "Big John" made quit a ruckus once he was put back in his kennel.

The owner let the kids each ride one of the horses which anyone who knows our kids was the highlight of the day (besides trains Mattox other love is horses).

Then they went and played on the play ground which was great fun. mattox was really excited about this giant slide they had. (mommy on the other hand was about to have a heart attack every time he went up the ladder. (lets just say the ladder had at least 15 steps........)
(ok so this was not the greatest idea.. on the way back to the farm he threw up everything he ate.. )
As the day was ending the kids got to get in their halloween outfits and go to a few of Gary's family houses, where special treats awaited them.
We all had such a wonderful time it was very sad to have to leave and come back to reality
But, one must do this to stay grounded.
I am very thankful for the family that has taken us in over the last month and showered my family with so much love and care. This time is hard for me but it is especially hard on the kids. These times we spend are treasured and I want you each to know that we guard these memories in our hearts forever.
We can not say thank you enough for everything our family and friends who we consider family have done for us.
Till the next adventure remember to look out your window at the wonderful creation God has made for us. Think about your your life and how you are surrounded by love.
 1 Corinthians 13:13
"and now these three remain; faith, hope, and love. The greatest of these is love."
